Buyers awaiting the Fortuner, Hilux, and Innova Crysta can now rejoice as Toyota has recommenced the dispatch of these models, alleviating concerns about extended waiting periods.
Recently, Toyota temporarily halted the shipment of three diesel engine models and their respective vehicles due to irregularities discovered during certification testing in Japan. An investigation revealed that the tested units were equipped with a different ECU software than the mass-produced units.
In response to this global announcement, Toyota India also paused the dispatch of the affected vehicles, namely the Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Hilux, and Toyota Fortuner, while continuing to accept new orders. After a thorough reassessment, Toyota has provided a positive update, as highlighted in the following statement:
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reaffirmed that the diesel engines adhere to the prescribed Indian regulations. Consequently, the brief suspension in dispatch for the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Hilux has been lifted. As a customer-centric organization, our commitment to delivering products of the highest quality and safety remains unwavering.
