
Lulu Group’s Rs 150-crore Aroor seafood export hub was inaugurated on August 14, 2023 by Industries Minister P Rajeeve. The hub is located in Aroor, Alappuzha district, Kerala. It is the first fish processing unit of the Lulu Group in the state.
The hub is equipped with the most modern facilities and has a processing capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes of seafood per month. It will initially export processed seafood to over 250 Lulu hypermarkets in the Gulf, Egypt, Indonesia, and Malaysia. In the next phase, it will export to new markets such as the US, the UK, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and China.
The hub is expected to create direct and indirect employment for over 800 people. It is a major boost to the state’s seafood export sector and will help to improve the income of fishermen.
